Abstract

This dissertation aims to study the causal relationship between external and internal factors that influence the performance of pension insurance agents. The research objectives are (1) to study external and internal factors that influence the performance of pension insurance agents (2) to analyze the consistency of the hypothetical model of the causal relationship between external and internal factors that Influence to the performance of pension insurance agents.

Mixed-Methods was employed in this research using both quantitative and qualitative studies to satisfy our purpose coverage. Sample data of 420 license agents have been collected and analyzed using a numerical statistical method with the Statistical Technical Equation Modeling (SEM) tool. This study can be summarized according to the objectives as follows. (1)

First, (1) Both external and internal factors that effects the agent performances, it was found that such variables were positively influenced by macro-environmental factor (MACR) variables, perception variables on the brand image (IMAG) and marketing mix service variable (MARK) that reveal the direct influence sizes which were 0.23, 0.41 and 0.46 respectively. To be more specific, those three variable values have a statistically significant influence at a level of 0.01. In addition, it was found that the performance of pension insurance agents receives the indirectly influence from the macro environmental factor (MACR) through the perception variables on the brand image (IMAG) and marketing mix service variable (MARK) which has an indirect influence value of 0.57 that contains a statistically significant influence at a level of 0.01. Second, (2) The proposed model was consistent with the empirical data. It was determined from the numerical statistics to verify the consistency between the model and the empirical data. The results shows that Chi-square value is 48.99, p-value of is 0.820 which greater than 0.05, index is 0.83 which less than 2.00, CFI index value is 1.00 which greater than 0.90, GFI index value is 0.99 which greater than 0.90, AGFI index value is 0.96 which greater than 0.90, RMR value is 0.005 which located between 0 and 0.05 range. Last, RMSEA value is 0.000 which less than 0.05.
