3D Modeling for Public Space Development with Community Interaction A Case Study of “Sala Thammasop Railway Station

Abstract

This research aims to (1) study the context of community people towards the use of the community activity area of ​​Sala Thammasop Railway Station and (2) design and develop the community activity area of ​​Sala Thammasop Railway Station using the 3D modeling program.

This study began by surveying the needs and opinions of the community regarding the use of the area using qualitative research methods through interviews and focus group discussions to collect data on the use and satisfaction of actual users. The data obtained were then analyzed and designed into a 3D model that could communicate creativity in the development of the area, using 3D modeling technology to help visualize and guide the design of the area.

The results of the study found that (1) the use of the community activity area of ​​Sala Thammasop Railway Station was diverse and full of activities that met the needs of the community as a venue for various events, such as recreational activities, important festivals, celebrations or annual community activities. (2) Creating a 3D model enabled the community to participate in providing opinions and guidelines for the design of the area effectively. allowing people in the community to be aware of the benefits and diverse uses of this area. The development of the community activity area of ​​Sala Thammasop Railway Station obtained from using a 3D model could provide important information for planning and developing the area in the future. The aim is to create public spaces that can respond to community needs appropriately and sustainably.
