Positive psychological capital intervention for students: A research synthesis by systematic review
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aimed to synthesize and summarize the literature on positive psychological capital (PPC) interventions for students. A systematic review of the literature was conducted from 2019 to 2024 using international databases such as Science Direct, Springer Link, and Scopus, as well as Thai databases, including ThaiJo and ThaiLIS. The content synthesis was divided into three themes: 1) general characteristic of the research, 2) characteristic of the intervention, and 3) research result. Quantitative data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, including frequency and percentage. Qualitative data were analyzed by thematic analysis. The results showed that 14 studies on PPC interventions among students met the criteria. Most of these studies were published in 2020 and 2023. The research samples primarily consisted of high school and higher education students. The average duration of most activities was more than one hour. The structure of the activities began with developing hope by setting goals, followed by other sub-activities related to the development of the remaining elements. Most of the interventions have 4 times according to the elements of PPC, by using concepts/theories and teaching models integrated. The primary purpose of most research was to increase positive characteristics. Individuals interested in developing PPC for students can use this information to design contextually appropriate interventions for enhancing students’ PPC.
