PHOTOGRAPHY, WORK OF ART AND SUBJECTIVE POINT OF VIEW

This article considers the objectivity of photography. The author argues that photography does not represent reality, on the contrary, it imitates reality by reconciling its impression with a photographic feature – this proposal is an extension of the traditional idea of art imitating nature. The author also questions artistic aspects within photography by conceptually elaborating the work from (Different) Horizons of Rockshelter. Linked into this ‘elaboration’ is the conclusive postulation that photography is not only the subjective experience of objective reality, but also an actual work of art itself.
