An Evaluation of the Medical License Examination Preparation Program for Interns in Police General Hospital

Abstract

The purposes of this study was to evaluate the Medical License Examination Preparation Program for Interns in Police General Hospital. This research was an evaluative research informants consisted of 1 chairman of the Medical Education Subcommittee, 5 subcommittees of Medical Education, 65 interns in 2016 and documents sources include the reports of the Subcommittee on Medical Education, basic Information of interns and the records of the results of the examination through the second step of the Medical Council. The research tools include questions in the interview, behavior observation framework and the questionnaire of the intern's satisfaction on Medical License Examination Preparation Program. The statistics employed for data analysis were percentage, mean and standard deviation. Qualitative data were analyzed with content analysis. Research findings were (1) inputs evaluation: qualified of medical professors, while the amount of medical professors and officers were not enough and lack of the motivation. The technology was appropriate, but the media and teaching materials were not enough. The budget was planned to be used systematically. (2) the process evaluation is appropriate in all aspects including preparation, implementation supervision and monitoring (3) output evaluation showed that : (3.1) interns attended lectures and practice which passed the evaluation criteria (3.2) passing rate of the rehearsal examination in the form of Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) failed to pass the assessment criteria (3.3) the rate of passing the second step of Medical License Certificate of Interns failed to pass the assessment criteria and (3.4) interns were satisfied on Medical License Examination Preparation Program of Police General Hospital at a high level and passed the evaluation criteria.
