Narrative of Success on Agro-Tourism Management in Sufficiency Economy Paradigm at Suan Lung Nin, Tungtako District, Chumphon Province.

Abstract

The objective of the research is to investigate the Narrative of Success on Agro-Tourism Management in Sufficiency Economy Paradigm at Suan Lung Nin, Tungtako District, Chumphon Province. The main source of information is from Somboon Srisubat. The Autobiography and semi-structure interview were applied in this qualitative research. The research found that starting from Lung Nin various experiences encountered with problems and setbacks and failure and success including debt problems. With the King’s saying about sufficiency economy and new theory agriculture, he started to study the philosophy and to plant chemical free polyculture and transformed to organic agriculture as well as cover crops. Lung Nin is confident and has an intention to follow father’s footsteps with sufficiency economy philosophy. Then 7 years later, he could write off his debt. He has applied the philosophy to his agricultural activities and his daily life. His success story inspired him to establish Sufficiency Economy Learning Center at Chong Mai Kaew, Tungtako, Chumphon province. He intended to disseminate, share and expand the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy to his neighborhood communities, farmers and those who are interested. Lung Nin then started to be interested in tourism and created sufficiency economy learning activities in the form of based learning. Then the Tourism Authority of Thailand has visited him and proposed him to participate in Tourism Industry in 2010 with two circles and three conditions of the sufficiency economy philosophy as well as tourism management. He obtained the tourism industry award of outstanding Agro-tourism in that year
