Tourism Routes in Phayao Province Based on the Concept of Creative Tourism

Abstract

This research aims to 1) study the tourist​ attraction potential in Phayao province and 2) study the tourism routes in Phayao province based on the concept of creative tourism which was a qualitative research by evaluating the tourist attraction potential and in-depth interviewing from key informants who were included 1tourism academic person, 1 government official, 1 entrepreneur that concerned tourism sources in Phoyao province, 18 representatives who were responsible for 18 tourism sources and 90 tourists, 111 participants altogether. The information from the interviews was then analyzed by content analysis.  

It was found that 18 tourist attraction were divided as 8 ecotourism and nature attractions such as Mae Puem National Park, Champa Thong Waterfall, Doi Luang National Park, Nok Yung Square, Phu Sang Waterfall, Phu Langka Forest Park, Than Sawan Waterfall and Fang Ta. 10 religious and cultural attractions such as Analayo Thipphayaram Temple, Tilok Aram Temple, Sri Khom Kham Temple, Si Chum Temple, Phra That Chom Sin Temple, Phra That Khing Kaeng Temple, Wiang Lor archaeological site, Nantaram Temple, Phra Nang Din Temple and Tha Fa Tai Temple where were all average potential in every topic in moderate ( = 3.11). The highest potential was the area site that was moderate ( = 3.34). The inferior potentials were activity that was moderate ( = 3.31), the environmental was moderate ( = 3.34), the process was moderate ( = 2.88) and the administrative managing was moderate ( = 2.67) respectively. And the tourist attraction sources potentials were found that they were able to promote attraction sources in Phayao province for the arrival tourists  creatively which were 2 routes such as routes “Unusual Travelling with the Nature of Phayao” that was the creative ecotourism in the nature attraction sources of Phayao province that had been intervened the environmental conservation activity in tourism such as the Creative natural activity, the Green area increasing activity, Pea cock finding and counting activity, Un waterfall overcoming activity, Big-headed Turtle activity. The other one was Route “Memorizing tourism with cultural diversity of Phayao” which was the creative religious and cultural attractions in historical and cultural attraction sources that had been intervened the creative activity about culture in tourism such as Making merit gets more merit activity, Herbal massage activity, Tung inventing activity, Way of Thai Lae life sightseeing activity and Delicious journey activity.
