The Development of Agro-Tourism Routes based on A Creative Connection with Local Resources in the Tasaba Community of Wangwiset District, Trang Province

This research aims to 1) study the contexts of area and tourism resource base in the Tasaba community, 2) study the tourism potentials of the Tasaba community, and 3) design Agro-tourism routes based on a creative connection with the local resources in the Tasaba community of Wangwiset District, Trang Province. Mixed-methods research methods were used to study of the contexts of the basis of local resources and the tourism potentials of the community. Data was collected from 30 key informants using in-depth interviews and from 400 people living in the Tasaba community using a questionnaire. The qualitative data was analyzed using content analysis and the quantitative data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequencies, percentages, means, and standard deviations. Research results revealed that the local agricultural resources of the community are distinctive. In addition, the community had a high level of tourism potential in terms of attractions and activities within the area. Therefore, we can develop Agro-tourism routes based on the creative local connections under the name “Local Travel: One-Day tour of the Precious Tasaba Agricultural Way of Life”. In regard to recommendations, the tourism potential of the community should be enhanced to be sufficient and be able to continuously carry the anticipated number of tourists, as well as to promote the strengths and selling points of the community regarding the key basis of its agricultural resources.
