The Effects of the Structural Family Therapy on Breast Cancer Patients’ Family Strength

Abstract
ABSTRACT
The purpose of this research was to study the results of structure family theory counseling on the strength of the family of breast cancer patients. The sample used in the study was a family of breast cancer patients, including breast cancer patients and husbands. Who were admitted to Lopburi Cancer Hospital in 2019 with the lowest family strength score of 20 families and easily randomized into 2 groups: experimental group and control group, 10 families each.The tools used in the experiment are Family strength assessment form and family structure theory counseling program developed by the researcher The family of the experimental group received the family structure theory consultation 4 times a week for 3 consecutive weeks for a total of 12 times,45-60 minutes at a time, while the control group hosts activities in daily life at the hospital. Data collection is divided into 2 phases: pre-trial period and post-trial period. Then the data were analyzed to analyze the variance of one type of variable between the group and one variable within the group.
The research found that Families that have been consulted on family structure theory have an average score on family strength. The post-test period was significantly higher than the pre-test period at the level of .05, and the family who received family structure theory counseling had an average score of family strength in the post-experimental period significantly higher than the control group family.
