The roles of good son and daughter according corner Buddhism in Ban Dong Chai Community, Muang District, Lampang Province

Abstract

The research of "The role of good children according to the Buddhist motto of Ban Dong Chai community, Muang District, Lampang Province " intends to; 1) study the characteristics of children according to the Buddhist motto, 2) study the characteristics of good children; A case study of Ban Dong Chai community, Muang district, Lampang province, and 3)  synthesize the role of good children according to the Buddhist motto of Ban Dong Chai Community, Muang District, Lampang. This research is a mixed methods research among the research from papers, interview, and subgroup discussion.

The results showed that the characteristics of good children according to the Buddhist motto are well behaved with the abduction which is the cause of deterioration, act according to the guideline of honesty, intent to study the arts and sciences by 4 path of accomplishment (Iddhipada 4) namely; (Chanda: aspiration), (Viriya: effort), (Citta: thoughtfulness), and (Vimamsa: investigation or examination), obeys the parents in choosing the couples that based on five dharma, and have the ability to manage their property legally.

The characteristics of good children; A case study of Ban Dong Chai community, Muang district, Lampang province, good children should take good care of the parents whether they are with us or not, always visit them, and not to let them to be lonely while they are alive. Good children also try not to make them sorry or disappointed in doing bad deeds, and must show love and respect and take good care of them for the rest of their lives.

The roles of good children according to the Buddhist motto of Ban Dong Chai Community, Muang District, Lampang Province, good children should be parenting the parents by taking care of them with caution, stay close to them much, help in every care, and find something they like as much as the children can such as; food, houses, clothes, medicines, handing some money in order for them to use with needed etc. Children may lead them to make merit, observe the precepts, and do meditation, and also work on your behalf with a willingness to work on the basis of good.

Good children also create a stable position and encourage the parents to make merit all the opportunities that are available throughout the year with the principle of “Gratitude”which is toremember their merit, and do something in return. This practice is called good children in making parents happy.
