Conditions and Problems of Teaching Practice in Educational Institutions of Students: Chetuphon Suksa School, Mueang District, Chiang Mai Province

Abstract

This qualitative thematic research consisted of the following objectives: 1) to study the state of teaching practice of the students 2) to study the problems in teaching practice of the students 3) to find out development in teaching practice of the students. The study from relevant documents, the collection of data from deep interview and the purposively selected sample included the students in teaching practice at Chetuphonsuksa School Mueang District Chiang Mai Province that consisted of 5 students from faculty of education at Mahamakut Buddhist University, Lanna Campus and 5 students in teaching practice from faculty of education at Chiang Mai Rajabhat University. The tool used for data collection was the structured interview and the data analysis was carried out in descriptive manner.

The results of this research were found that:

1. Regarding the teaching practice of the students, it was fond that the students were confident in the potentiality development of their teaching practice. There was the teaching action according to the teaching plan and instruction media, the report of teaching practice by recording teaching activities according to the teaching plan.
2. Regarding the problems in teaching of the students, it was found that there were a lot of communication through documents, a lack of explicit source of documents, a poor background of pupils, a sleep in the classroom and a display of improper manner.
3. Regarding the guidelines for development of teaching practice of the students, it was found that there should be an improvement of explicit form of documentation. The mentors and the supervisors should give advice and technique of teaching to the students. There should be an improvement and a correction of reporting in teaching practice and the learners should be encouraged in more reading.
