Buddhist University Administration Model for Academic Excellence Based on Buddhism

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to: 1) study the conceptual framework of the Buddhist University administration model for academic excellence based on Buddhism 2) create a pattern of the Buddhist University administration model for academic excellence based on Buddhism and 3) evaluate and certify the model of the Buddhist University administration model for academic excellence based on Buddhism. The mixed methods of research approach were used. The study area was main University covered 7 campus and 3 college of Mahamakut Buddhist University. The participants included University administrators, teachers, and personnel, totaling 100 individuals. The research instruments utilized were simi-structured interviews, questionnaires and checklists. The statistics used in the research comprised frequencies, percentages, means, standard deviations, factor analysis explained and path analysis.

The results of this research found that:

1. The conceptual framework of the Buddhist University administration model for academic excellence based on Buddhism, consist of 5 components: 1) learning outcome 2) research and innovation 3) academic administration 4) art and culture and Thainess 5) administration.
2. To create a pattern of the Buddhist University administration model for academic excellence based on Buddhism consist of 3 components: 1) the leading part consisting of the concept, basic and objective, 2) the content consisting of the model and process of PDCA; inputs, process, product and feedback. 3) the conditions for success in applying the model as so far.
3. To evaluate and certify the model from the expert and the great master totaling 23 persons. To findings that the evaluation results exceed the criteria, a value equal to 4.43, the evaluation results were highest level and the criteria for certifying of model in 98.91% to concluded that the model has passed and got model certification.
