MANAGEMENT OF THE BUDDHIST SANGHA IN INDIA

Abstract
This article had three objectives 1) to study the context and the present Management of the Buddhist Sangha in India 2) to study the principles of sangha administrative of Buddhist temples in India and 3) to formulate a strategic plan for the administration of Buddhist Sangha in India. This article used qualitative research method by studying documents, in-depth interviews with abbots, monks and residents of the temple including 22 persons, and 11 sub-group discussions with key informants. The results found that :
The Indian context, the public acceptance of introspection was considered to be the vipassna of mental development. The government give freedom to religion, which depended on the faith of the individual. The present condition of monks, there were not sufficient ehough speaker monks. Some of the monks has problem about speaking English for communication.
Principles of the administration by the act of monks were based on six administrations of the Thai monastic government. The administrative aspect, abborts were the leaders. The speaker monks were responsible for the propagation of Dharma to the Indians. Foreigner and Thais Buddhist who go to the pilgrimage of four holy places. The Ecclesiastical education, The Buddhist Sunday School was established. Education Teaching Thai lingual to Indians people, Public welfare there were donations to the poor people. The infrastructure, there were restoration of temples and public roads.
The Strategic Management Plan consisted of 1. Supporting the speaker monks 2. Supporting for education and propagation 3. Welfare support 4. Public Relations Support 5. Supporting for construction and restoration and
6. Supporting for planning and administration.
