A Model of Integrated Development Aiming for the Excellence of Khao Din Sub-District, Bangpakong District, Chachoengsao Province

Abstract

The purposes of this qualitative research were to: 1) study the present circumstances of the integrated development aiming for the excellence of Khao Din Sub-District, Bangpakong District, Chachoengsao Province, 2) create a model of integrated development aiming for the excellence of Khao Din Sub-District, Bangpakong District, Chachoengsao Province, and 3) evaluate the model of integrated development aiming for the excellence of Khao Din Sub-District, Bangpakong District, Chachoengsao Province. The tools used for data collection were a set of in-depth interviews and a focus group. The samples used for in-depth interviews were 40 community leaders and elders  obtained by purposive sampling. Also, the samples for a focus group were 10 experts and other associated persons. The collected data were processed for content analysis by emphasizing on major themes/patterns. The findings were as follows: 1. According to the present circumstances of integrated development aiming for the excellence of Khao Din Sub-District, the researchers found that the integrated development was comprised of 4 major aspects, including: 1.1 Society: in overall, the people in Khao Din Sub-district were peaceful and loved each other, whereby the community leaders and villagers helped each other for developing the quality of lives in the community; 1.2 Technology : in overall, the community leaders and villagers appropriately applied the modern technologies while strongly preserved the local wisdoms and traditional ways of life; 1.3 Economy : They shared ideas in planning and managing the production and marketing for increasing the income of villagers and Khao-Din Sub-district as a whole; and 1.4 Politics: the community leaders focused on the importance of decentralization. 2. The model of integrated development aiming for the excellence of Khao Din Sub-District was created according to the data obtained from this research, which emphasizing on the collaboration among community leaders, villagers, officials, academicians, and  also the other associated persons and networks. 3. The model of integrated development aiming for the excellence of Khao Din Sub-District was approved by all of 10 experts and associated persons who joined the focus group.
