Management Innovation of Private University for Airline Business in ASEAN Community

Abstract

               The purposes of this research were to study the management innovation  of private universities for airline business education in  the ASEAN community in three aspects as follows: 1. to study the innovation management of airline business in  the private universities for knowledge accumulation  in educational achievement of graduated students; 2. to study the management approach of the airline business of the private universities that should be developed; and 3. to study a new model and improve knowledge of innovative approaches with effectiveness of private universities for airline business of the ASEAN community. The samples are two private universities; Rangsit University and Sripatum University. The findings of this research are as follows: 1. The knowledge accumulation applying the systems theory shows that the input factor is composed of the content, instructors, tools and assessment. The process contains the combination of theories and practices or interdisciplinary approach. The output includes effective educational system, effective curriculum for international standards basis. The feedback includes the importance of feedback from airline business units.  2. Guidelines for management of airline business and management practices show that the management theory should consist of POLC concepts or planning, organization, leading and controlling, the PDCA concept or Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle and good governance. Then the new and appropriate model contains 1. the demand for betterment on the current situation or “Emerge”, 2. the development or “Change”, 3. the effective practices or “Process”, and 4. the paradigm shift. This model is appropriate for airline business education in the ASEAN Community.
