The Pattern Development of Resin Wicker Baskets and Packaging in Ban Lumkhao Community

Abstract

The purposes of the research were 1) to study the problems and needs about development of resin wicker basket in Ban Lumkhao community, Moo 5, Lumkhao subdistrict, Khok Samrong district, Lopburi province; 2) to develop a model using a participatory action research for resin wicker basket in Ban Lumkhao community, Moo 5, Lumkhao subdistrict, Khok Samrong district, Lopburi province; and 3) to investigate the consumer satisfaction toward the basket patten, tag label, and packaging design of resin wicker basket in Ban Lumkhao community, Moo 5, Lumkhao subdistrict, Khok Samrong district, Lopburi province. The sample was 15 villagers and 30 customers in Ban Lumkhao community with purposive sampling. The findings found that 1) In terms of resin wicker basket’s identity, Ban Lumkhao community has produced the outstanding basket patterns including Pikul flower pattern, rose pattern, Suphannahong’s royal barge pattern, slanted Thai pattern, and single Thai flower pattern with participatory action research; 2) For the evaluation of consumer satisfaction toward the basket pattern, The mean was 4.56 and the standard deviation was 0.64. It was at the highest level; and 3) As regards logo, tag, and packaging design of resin wicker basket in Ban Lumkhao community, the overall mean was 4.74, and the standard deviation was 0.48. It was at the highest level.
