การวิจัยด้านการส่งเสริมการอ่านในห้องสมุดโรงเรียนมีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อประเมินผลการปฏิบัติงานเชิงประจักษ์ของบรรณารักษ์ในการจัดกิจกรรมส่งเสริมการอ่าน โดยมีเป้าหมายหลักในการสร้างนิสัยรักการอ่านและการพัฒนาคุณลักษณะของผู้เรียนรู้ตลอดชีวิตให้เกิดขึ้นในตัวผู้เรียน บทความนี้นำเสนอเนื้อหาเกี่ยวกับการวิจัยปฏิบัติการในห้องสมุดโรงเรียน ประเด็นการส่งเสริมการอ่านในมาตรฐานห้องสมุดโรงเรียน บริบทการวิจัยด้านการส่งเสริมการอ่าน และประเด็นการวิจัยด้านการส่งเสริมการอ่านในประเทศไทย นอกจากนี้ยังนำเสนอสารสนเทศที่ได้จากการสังเคราะห์ข้อมูลผลการวิจัยในประเด็นพฤติกรรมการอ่านของนักเรียน แนวทางการส่งเสริมการอ่าน และผลของการจัดกิจกรรมส่งเสริมการอ่าน
