Abstract

   This article presents findings from an exploration of literature and research concerning the significance and role of digital libraries in fostering lifelong learning. It examines the interplay between libraries and lifelong learning, the diverse activities and services offered by digital libraries to support lifelong learning, and guidelines for developing digital libraries aimed at promoting continual learning.
     The study reveals that: 1) Digital libraries serve as vital learning resources that enhance lifelong learning by facilitating the acquisition of adaptable learning skills and reducing disparities in information access through features that support effective information retrieval; 2) Activities and services within digital libraries are offered in varied formats and provide extensive electronic information resources that aid lifelong learning initiatives; and 3) Guidelines for developing digital libraries underscore the importance of digitizing and utilizing information resources to meet evolving user needs effectively
