Abstract

This article presents techniques to enhance reading of Chinese history without rote memorization. Studying and reading Chinese history involves understanding both time and culture in order to gain an overview of its diverse and complex changes. The author studied techniques to enhance reading of Chinese history in order to facilitate understanding of its content by linking events in Chinese history with the world situations at the same time. The article respectively includes understanding the overall development of Chinese civilization from ancient times to the present, important Chinese dynasties, important events in Chinese history, political and philosophical theories. Besides, there are reading research and Chinese historical books from reliable sources, understanding aspects of Chinese culture, following up on current news and information, and reviewing and comparing events in China with events in other countries.
