THE INFLUENCE OF SELF-SACRIFICAL LEADERSHIP ON EMPOYEES’ HELPING BEHAVIOR

Abstract

One of the important factors that affect organizational performance is employee behavior. In addition to the role of employees, mutual assistance between employees is conducive to enhancing cohesion within the organization, as well as interdependence and collaboration, thereby promoting the organization to make full use of its advantages. With increasingly ferce economic competition, the role of self-sacrifce leadership in leading an organization to enhance competitiveness and cope with difculties has become increasingly prominent, and it also has a signifcant impact on employee behavior. How to promote employee help through self-sacrifcing leadership behavior is an issue worthy of in-depth study. However,
there is currently little research on the effect of self-sacrifcing leadership on employee help, especially in China. To further explore the mechanism of self-sacrifcing leadership on employee help behavior, and provide a theoretical basis for self-sacrifcing leadership to promote employee help behavior, this article is based on the social exchange theory, social learning theory, pro-social behavior and other theories. The selected theories were used to analyze the influence mechanism of self-sacrifcing leadership on employee help behavior, with the results showing that 1) self-sacrifcing leadership promotes employee help behavior, 2) leadership identifcation and sense of organizational afliation play intermediary roles, and 3) human relationships and employee traditionality play moderating roles.
