Abstract

In the context of teaching and learning English as a Foreign language (EFL), English skills practicing occurs mostly in the classroom, especially, English speaking skill which is always fully learned and practiced only in the classroom. And nowadays, there are many speaking activities that can enhance English speaking skills. However, the interesting activities that are easy to apply to use in EFL context are discussions, role play and information gap activities. The discussion activity is an activity which allows learners to practice their language skills at the conversational level. It also promotes interpersonal communicative skills among learners. While role play activity is a simulated event or situation in which the learners can develop their speaking skills without tension. It is able to encourage learners to understand the functions of the language used in different situations. For the Information gap activity, it can allow learners to practice speaking equally. The learners have the same clear goal in speaking. It is also considered as an activity that can create learners’ motivation in speaking.
