NEW NORMAL IN MILITARY ACADEMY

The Military Academy, like many other educational institutions and government agencies and private organisations, is currently facing the situation of a new strain of the coronary virus 2019. However, it has a unique context that is different from other educational institutions. As being an all-male boarding military school at a tertiary level that focuses on intense physical training. Such characteristics should cause the academy to change in response to the global epidemic situation differently from other institutes. The analysis of the academy’s current status and related documents found that changes are to comply with multi-level intensive measures, including government, army, and the academy itself; which promptly becomes a new normal, such as health precaution, social network communication, financial discipline, distance learning, and online teaching. Prospected new normal falls on the improvement of the growth mindset of staff and students, institution new context-based curriculum and instruction methods, which will focus more on network learning, maximum use of resources between networks. These new normal must be continuously monitored to ensure the academy can proactively manage its system.
