At the Crossroads: Thai-American Relations during the Time of Covid-19

บทความวิชาการนี้มีจุดประสงค์ในการศึกษาและวิเคราะห์แนวโน้มความสัมพันธ์ไทย-สหรัฐฯ ปัจจุบันในบริบทของพัฒนาการด้านประวัติศาสตร์และเสนอแนวทางในการยกระดับความสัมพันธ์ทวิภาคีในมิติการเมือง ความมั่นคง อีกทั้งเศรษฐกิจและสังคม โดยคำนึงถึงบทบาทในภูมิภาคของจีนและผลกระทบจากการแพร่ระบาดของโรคโควิด-19 ในปัจจุบันด้วย ในส่วนของการเมือง บทความเสนอว่า สหรัฐฯ ควรเน้นการเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจมากกว่าการเข้าเกี่ยวในการเมืองภายในของไทย ส่วนมาตรการในมิติของความมั่นคงควรเน้นการสร้างเครือข่ายเจ้าหน้าที่ซึ่งมีความเข้าใจสหรัฐฯ ดังที่เคยมีในช่วงสงครามเย็น สุดท้ายในมิติเศรษฐกิจและสังคม สหรัฐฯ ควรเลียนแบบวิธีการของจีนในการเข้าถึงประชาชนและพิจารณาวิธีสร้างความสอดคล้องระหว่างความชำนาญของสหรัฐฯ กับเป้าหมายของยุทธศาสตร์ชาติ 20 ปีของไทย
