Abstract

Provisions of nursing education need to be developed in response to the changing world and the challenges of complex health conditions, advancement of health service systems, and rapid social changes. With provisions of nursing education, students are being tailored to improve their skills necessary for nursing practice. Particularly, analytical thinking skills that can lead to quality of care and patient safety are important. For enhancing effective analytical thinking, provisions of nursing practicum are  aimed to (1) provide an appropriate  learning environment and promote learning, including preparing students’ readiness in terms of knowledge, physical and mental conditions and building a learning atmosphere that is relaxing for students to have sense of safety, lack of experiencing threats, and freedom to express their feelings and (2) utilize analytical thinking and intellectually stimulating tools including concept mapping and clinical quality developing tools which includes  clinical tracer, C3THER, fishing bone diagram and “Plan Do Check Action” cycle (PDCA) to develop continuous nursing quality and learning.
