The purpose of this research was to study (1) approaches school administrators used when exercising their power in managing extra-large secondary schools (2) anticipated ways school administrator exercise their power in managing extra-large secondary schools, and (3) suggestions on approaches school administrators should exercise their power in the future when managing extra-large secondary schools in Chantaburi under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 17. The data collection instrument in this study was a five-rating-scale questionnaire surveying forms school administrators exercise their power. The sample was 191 school teachers working in extra-large secondary schools in Chantaburi under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 17. This number was suggested according to Krejcie and Morgan’s table for sample size (1970, p. 608). Statistics used for data collection included Mean () Standard Deviation (SD), and PNIModified index. This study reports the following findings: School administrators exercised their power in managing extra-large secondary schools at a moderate level. Several aspects concerning power usage need improving. These included enforcement, the reward power respectively, the expert power, the reference power, and the legitimate power.
