The Participatory Management Model of the Child Development Center for Preparing Students to Enter the 21st Century

Abstract

This research aims to (1) study the participatory management components         (2) establishing a participatory management model, and (3) evaluating the participation management model; of the Child Development Center in suburban area under the Department of Local Administration, Ministry of Interior to prepare students for the 21st century. The target groups used in the study were 308 child development centers. Data contributors were child development center’s administrators and teachers totaled 616 people. The tools used in the research were (1) questionnaires (2) in-depth interviews, and (3) evaluation forms. Statistics for data analysis are mean, standard deviation, multiple regression analysis. The content analysis is also used. The results of the study revealed that the participatory management components consisted of 3 aspects (1) personal elements (2) buildings and premises environment and safety, and (3) support from all sectors. This model is characterized as a set of educational management with a participatory process in finding out what is the problem, the cause of the problem and the need for planning, decision making and monitoring and evaluation of educational management of the child development center. It emphasizes the readiness of students in matters relating to communication ability, thinking ability, problem-solving ability, and the ability to use technology. Experts have approved this model that it is accurate, feasible, and beneficial.
