Financial Literacy Affecting the Wealth of Teaching Professionals in the Bangkok Metropolitan Region

Abstract

The purposes of this research were (1) to compare the wealth of teaching professionals in the Bangkok Metropolitan Region rely on personal factors (2) to study the factors impacting on the wealth of teaching professionals in the Bangkok Metropolitan Region. The sample group was 400 teaching professions in the Bangkok Metropolitan Region. A questionnaire was employed as an instrument for data collection. The descriptive statistics used for data analysis were percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The inferential statistics were, Independent Sample t-test, One-Way ANOVA, and Multiple Regression Analysis. The results indicated that the respondents, who had different age, marital status, work position, work duration in the education institute and a number of adopted person, had different wealth in liquidity skill and debt management skill. While the respondents, who had different of affiliation, number of household members and revenue, had different wealth in savings. In addition, the different gender and education level did not affect the respondents’ wealth. Additionally, the result indicated that the financial literacy of respondents was at a high level. For each aspect, the financial attitude and financial behavior of respondents were at a high level, while financial knowledge was at a moderate level. Additionally, financial behavior influenced on wealth in liquidity skill, debt management skill and savings at the statistical significance level of .01 while financial knowledge impacted on liquidity skills and savings at the statistical significance level of .01. However, financial attitude did not affect the wealth.
