The priority needs in academic management development of vocational education institutions based on the concept of innovative workforce in eastern economic corridor area

The purpose of this descriptive research was to study the priority needs in academic management development of vocational education institutions based on the concept of innovative workforce in eastern economic corridor area. The sample groups used in this research were 25 state and private vocational education institutions in Eastern Economic Corridor area which were sampled by stratified random sampling. A total of 104 subjects including (1) college director (2) deputy director of academics (3) deputy director of student affairs development and (4) a head of department. Data collection by sending and collecting the questionnaire via postal mail and by the researcher. The research instrument used in this study was a 5-level rating scaled questionnaire. The data were analyzed by frequency distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation and PNImodified. The findings indicated that in overall the priority needs in academic management development of vocational education institutions based on the concept of innovative workforce in eastern economic corridor area, the highest priority needs index was Curriculum Development and the second was Instructional Management. While considering in each aspect indicated that (1) the highest priority needs index of characteristic of innovative workforce in curriculum development and instructional management was “Be able to solve complicated problem” and the second priority needs index was “Be a life-long learner” (2) the highest priority needs index of characteristic of innovative workforce in authentic assessment is “Be willing to take calculated risk” and followed by “Be able to solve complicated problem”
