Abstract

This academic article aims to study the problems of learning English among. Thai students struggle more than students in other ASEAN nations to learn English. The way that English is taught in the twenty-first century must change to reflect the demands of the modern world. The strategy on enhancing the standard of English in higher education institutions by 2024 states that all students must pass an English language proficiency exam before to graduation in order to significantly increase the graduates' English language ability. Thus, higher education institutions must adhere to these crucial recommendations, establish rules for overseeing English language instruction, plan extracurricular activities, and foster an environment within and outside of the classroom that encourages the use of English, and establish rules for evaluation by passing exit exam of English language knowledge and proficiency prior to graduation. Then, define goals for achieving English language proficiency and compare the results to each person's CEFR requirements, which must be at least B2 for a bachelor's degree. Higher education institutions also need to concentrate on fostering a learning atmosphere, utilizing technology in the classroom, and teaching students the abilities they need to use language everyday.
