The Development of a Thai Language Learning Management Model Based on Connectivism Theory Combined with Microlearning to Enhance the Reading and Spelling Writing Abilities of Grade 1 Students
Keywords:
Thai Language Learning Management Model, Connectivism Theory, Reading Writing and Spelling AbilitiesAbstract
The objectives of this study were to: (1) develop a Thai language learning management model based on Connectivism integrated with Microlearning to enhance Grade 1 students’ reading and spelling abilities, and (2) examine the effectiveness of the model. The specific objectives were: 2.1) to compare students’ reading and spelling abilities before and after the implementation of the model, 2.2) to compare reading ability scores, 2.3) to compare spelling ability scores, and 2.4) to investigate students’ satisfaction with the learning model. The sample consisted of 30 Grade 1 students enrolled in the first semester of the 2024 academic year at Ramkhamhaeng University Demonstration School (Elementary Level), selected using cluster random sampling. The findings revealed that (1) the developed model comprised six components: principles, objectives, instructional procedures, social system, support system, and assessment and evaluation. The learning process consisted of three stages: Connection and Observation, Master and Perceived Learning, and Evaluation and Testing Efficiently. The model was rated at a very high level of suitability
( =4.82, SD=0.07). and (2) The effectiveness results showed that: 2.1) students’ reading and spelling abilities after instruction were significantly higher than before instruction at the .01 level, 2.2) reading ability scores improved significantly at the .01 level, 2.3) spelling ability scores improved significantly at the .01 level, and 2.4) students’ satisfaction with the model was at the highest level ( =2.86, SD=0.23)
