Abstract

This research aims to study the state of teaching Arabic in primary level at Kampong Soom- Kingdom of Cambodia, trying to detect the syllabus and its weakness beside the reality to teaching aids, methods of teaching, the level of performance of teachers and students, activities.

The researcher followed the descriptive analytical approach and field approach to questioning the research sample through the questionnaire.

The study was applied to a sample of all teachers in the department of religions in tow primary school Jassim Albassam and Dar Aluloom in Kampong Soom province- Kingdom of Cambodia. It was 19 teachers and 60 students, the researcher used the percentages in the statistical analysis. The researcher found several results, including:

The aims are varring by the students but the majority aims to study Arabic language motivated to understand Quran and Islamic religion and those about (90%) although that teaching styles and asking questions some times, except for translation, as the teachers do not have a fully aware by teaching methods through percentages in adequate ( very weak), and concern by teaching aids, and this is due to the lack of sufficient capacity in educational aids and does not receive courses about it. As for the activities in the great concern in them as the most answer by approving or strongly agree on the part of teachers, while the management concern in school by stimulus in the most aspects showing, as it turned out there is a need to design curriculum or courses that appropriate with Cambodian students, and there was a need for training on writing exams, and prepare for academic and vocationally by new even have advanced-level students in study Arabic language.
