The students’ employment status and income while studying at Thailand national sports University, Chiang Mai Campus, in academic Year 2019

Abstract

          The purpose of this research was to study students’ employment status and income while studying at Thailand National Sports University, Chiang Mai Campus, in academic year 2562.  The populations were 472 the second-year to the fourth-year students of all 3 faculties. The instrument used in the study was a 4-part questionnaire which was verified by 3 experts. The content validity was 0.75, data were analyzed by percentage, mean (µ), and standard deviation (σ), used a package program, and presented in tables and a composition.

          The results showed that there were 346 male students and 126 female students receiving financial support from their parents, working while studying, student loans, and others.  There were 242 students, accounting for 51.30 percent were not employed and had no income while studying, and there were 230 students, accounting for 48.70 percent worked and received income while studying at Thailand National Sports University, Chiang Mai Campus, depended on various activities and kinds of working, followed by working in shops, restaurants in private establishments, sports associations, sports clubs, and Chiang Mai sports promotion centers.  The requirements of students were to work and receive income while studying as follows: students under the Faculty of Education were at a high level (Mean = 4.07), students under the Faculty of Sports and Health Sciences were at a high level (Mean = 4.11), and students under the Faculty of Liberal Arts were at a high level (Mean = 3.94).  In addition, students of all 3 faculties also required the university to support concerning the sports knowledge, professional skills, sports referees, foreign languages, and personality development.
