The research is a study of building improvement guidelines to support new graduate projects in new industries (New S-Curve) using operating buildings 1-6 as a case study. The study is divided into two parts: 1) survey and group discussion to study the physical characteristics of buildings, problems, approaches, and recommendations, and 2) literature reviews to study the methods and model of new graduate projects in new industries and building designs that support learning. The findings of the study are as follows:
The entire building is a 1-story reinforced concrete building with masonry walls and a double-tiled roof with a high open ceiling. It is used for 2 disciplines as a lecture hall, drawing, and other activities in teaching and learning. The building is damaged. From group discussions, the suggestions given were to create an atmosphere of learning by improving the space to be versatile with multipurpose use. The building management approach focuses on encouraging learning, color selection, using the right material, creating comfortable conditions, and maintaining buildings efficiently. The new graduate project in new industries (New S-Curve) emphasizes integration between disciplines, real-world practice, and adaptation to the changing demands of the manufacturing sector.
The findings proposed the following guidelines: The building should be renovated using the original structure of the building, improving the building to be interesting to use by using colors, natural light, and interesting building styles. The findings also proposed guidelines for using lecture halls and studios in both majors. Classrooms can be converted into seminar rooms, rooms for exhibitions and presentations, rooms for formal conference rooms, and space between the buildings should be used as an activity area and a mezzanine floor should be constructed in the building to maximize the use of the building.
