Abstract

This article is part of a research project: The Innovation of Fashion and Lifestyle Products: Techwear from Metal Textiles for Public Figures to Promote International Trade. The objective of this research is to explore the dressing styles of public figures and to develop a design approach for their clothing based on the global trends of the AW25/26 fashion season.

This research analyzes the dressing styles of public figures who play significant roles in society. Their behavior and image often attract public and media attention, making their fashion choices crucial in shaping and enhancing their image and status. Additionally, the clothing of public figures reflects political and societal trends and can contribute to driving the global economy by promoting products or fashion that project a positive image. This study uses a mixed-methods approach, combining both quantitative and qualitative research. It includes surveys using the Paper Doll Data Set tool and interviews with experts to identify key design elements. The target group was divided into five categories: 1) public figures in Thailand, 2) public figures in Asian countries, 3) public figures in the United States, 4) public figures in European countries, and 5) public figures in the Middle East. The study found that while the dressing styles of public figures vary by region, there is a shared emphasis on styles that promote image, modern luxury, and tailored, custom-made tailoring. These trends align with the AW25/26 season's theme, Intelligent Simplicity, which focuses on classic, simple silhouettes with interesting futuristic details. The identified design elements include concept, silhouette, color, material, details, and techniques. These elements can serve as guidelines for designing clothing for public figures that aligns with their roles in society while also enhancing their image and supporting economic growth in the future.
