Community Market Design Guidelines to Increase Land Use of Public Parks in Bungwai Sub-District, Warin Chamrab District, Ubon Ratchathani Province

This research was conducted as a public area development of a community market of the
public park, Bung Wai Subdistrict, Warin Chamrap District, Ubon Ratchathani Province. Using a user-centered design process and participatory design to serve as the community’s public place
helps build relationships and strengthen communities. The study was quantitative research. Data
were collected by a physical survey of the project site, observation, focus group discussion, and
in-depth interviews. The purposive sampling of 80 stakeholders from 20 villages consisted of village
headmen, community representatives, entrepreneurs, and chief executives of the Subdistrict
Administrative Organization. Moreover, a community process was also held to brainstorm the
stakeholder’s opinions. The academic service is scholarly designed based on the needs of the
society for solution or betterment. The research findings revealed essential guidelines that should
be applied in the development of the community market according to the people, while the
simulated community market design derived was illustrated. The result obtained is a guideline for
the design of the construction plan of the sub-districts public areas.
