Cultural Probe Design for The Site Research : A Case Study of Talat Noi and Charoenkrung Road, Bangkok, Thailand
Main Article Content
Abstract
This research presents the experimental study and the development of the design of probe kit for the site research, using Talad Noi and Charoenkrung Road, Bangkok as a sample area, lead to analysis and summarize the qualitative data that will be used in the visual language design in the future. According to the study research, probe kit tool’s experiment, and probe kits development for the site research found that the cultural probe method is the qualitative research, which gain the specific data, a variety of information, and differentiation. After the experiment and development of the cultural probe tools, leading to data analysis, the researcher is required to plan and design the process of the method carefully for gathering the potential information, whereas lacking of the cautiously planning, the researcher will get confused with the data analysis. However, this research article focus on presenting the development and design of the research toolset to find an effective way to design the research tool and to be applied to further related quality research. It can be divided the structure of the probe kits into 3 parts as pre-process, during the process, and port-process, through careful planning and design of the probe kits. Then the data collection will return to the researcher for further analysis and synthesis of the data and information.
