Lanna Mural Painting towards Contemporary Painting Reflecting Thai Way of Life

Abstract

The creative process was a 2D painting work in contemporary art form by using acrylic paint technique on canvas. It was a creation of works inspired by the study of Lanna murals, with content reflecting life, warmth, dependence and happiness by using Lanna's unique culture as inspiration to create unique and outstanding works of Lanna‘s mural painting in terms of lifestyle, living and beautiful traditions to develop in creating a contemporary work, with combination of Western and Eastern art to create a new, unique style of art. The creation of works mainly focus on conveying the joy and fun of people who live a simple life, the warmth of the people expressed through facial expression, emotion, feeling, smiling face which convey pure feelings within the mind, as well as the communication of people that is straightforward, both in gesture and emotion, in the context of the Lanna society, based on belief and tradition as a practice to creates morality for people in society.

        The creative works symbolized happiness, joy, warmth to see the Thai way of life, which have been passed down by showing happiness through the faces of people and the elements that show unity, through the combination of drawing lines, colors, shapes, weights and harmony of shapes and content, helping to convey the work to create fun emotions by conveying various stories that occur in Thai people's way of life.
