Abstract
The product design for decorative desk accessories inspired by animals in fantasy literature inspired by Fantasy Literature Animals. This study is influenced by childhood imagination in the design of decorative items. It is a creative research project for home decoration. influence of childhood imagination on interior design is a creative research project on home decoration. Its objectives are to: 1. Study inspiration from childhood interests. 2. Design and develop prototype home decoration products that can be mass-produced in the industrial system.
The creative process begins with searching for inspiration from childhood memories and studying the principles of geometric reductionism from Art Deco style. This includes sketching, designing shapes, designing functional benefits, and creating 3D models. Then, the 3D models are printed, molds are created, and prototype pieces are produced in the final step.
The research has resulted in a collection of desktop accessories, with the first product being a three-headed dragon incense burner. This piece is an iconic representation of Art Deco style, with each head holding an incense stick. The body of the dragon is slender and long, adorned with geometric patterns and a metallic surface. The base of the incense burner is also geometric in shape, with sharp edges and angles. The head of the dragon serves as the focal point. With its distinctive and beautiful design, it captures attention. Additionally, there is a pencil holder inspired by a rod or hopper as an additional accessory on the desk. The stand legs are prominently shaped like a rod or hopper, with a slot for holding pens and pencils. The body of the animal is angular and rectangular, with geometric patterns and a metallic surface. The pencil holder is located at the back of the animal, allowing for seamless design and practical use. This design showcases seamless and functional design, inspired by both childhood memories and Art Deco influences.
