Abstract
The purpose of this study was to study the effect of using story to enhance life skills of early childhood students in schools of the primary educational service area 1, Lampang province. This research was a quasi-experiment design. The sample with the purposive sampling were 41 boy and girl students at kindergarten grade 2, aged 5-6 who were studying in the second semester academic year 2017 at Pongsanook school. The instruments were 17 story books enhancing life skills of early childhood students and the 2 situations of life skills test which were consisted of 1) the assessment of students’ responsibility and building a good relationship with others 2) the assessment of students’ analytical thinking skills and solving problems that the researcher made. The data were analyzed by mean and standard deviation. The findings of the research were as follows: The life skills of the students after taking the activity achieved at higher level. Before the activity, the mean was at 0.85 and after it was at 1.80 as in details below ; The responsibility, the mean before the activity was at 1.08 and after it was at 1.80.The building a good relationship with others, the mean before the activity was at 0.80 and after it was at 1.72. The students’ analytical thinking skill, the mean before the activity was at 0.71 and after it was at 1.53. The students’ solving problems, the mean before the activity was at 0.82 and after it was at 1.76.
