K-MOOC: Lifelong Learning Platform in Korean Digital Era

Abstract

In the era of open and lifelong learning, learners can learn by themselves without the limit of time and place. Focusing on lifelong learning and make learning society, the new learning resources nowadays has been developed in a form of Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), lifelong learning platform that responds to learner in digital society. South Korea is a country that constantly develops policies and innovations to promote lifelong learning. a Digital Learning Platform and Lifelong Learning Innovation by National Institute for Lifelong Education (NILE) called “K-MOOC” consisting of 1) Homepage 2) Course and Course description 3) Lectures 4) Examination 5) Assignments 6) Discussion forums and 7) Certification. That changes the atmosphere and learning ecosystem from traditional online platform in the past to enabling participating and interacting with lecturers and other learners, including quizzes and assignments. It can also network with leading universities in the country. This innovation is beneficial to create a learning ecosystem that is conducive to the development of human potential in the digital society.
