Development of the Knowledge and Experience Evaluation System in Transferred Education for Technical Diploma Curriculum of Colleges under the Vocational Education Commission

Abstract

The objectives of this research were (1) to develop the knowledge and experience evaluation system in transferred education for technical diploma curriculum of colleges under the Vocational Education Commission; and (2) to verify quality of the developed knowledge and experience evaluation system. The research operation comprised two stages. The first stage was the development of the knowledge and experience evaluation system in transferred education for technical diploma curriculum of colleges under the Vocational Education Commission with the use of Delphi Technique. The research informants were 17 experts and teachers who had experiences on transferring of learning outcomes in colleges under the Vocational Education Commission. The employed research instrument was a questionnaire on opinions toward appropriateness and feasibility of the system. Statistics employed for data analysis were the frequency, percentage, and mean, with the use of Delphi Technique. The second stage was the quality verification of the developed knowledge and experience evaluation system in transferred education. Research informants were 32 administrators, section heads and instructors of Nakhon Ratchasima Vocational College, and 30 purposively selected students of Vocational Diploma in Business Computer Program. The employed research instruments were the developed knowledge and experience evaluation system in transferred education, and a questionnaire concerning the developed knowledge and experience evaluation system in transferred education. Statistics employed for data analysis were the mean, and standard deviation. Regarding results of the system development, it was found that 1) the developed knowledge and experience evaluation system in transferred education for technical diploma curriculum of colleges under the Vocational Education Commission was composed of four components, namely, (1) the preparation work which comprised four sub-components: (1.1) operational plan, (1,2) qualifications of the persons to be evaluated, (1.3) qualifications of evaluation committee members, and (1.4) the work of determining indicators and evaluation criteria; (2) the operational work which comprised three sub-components, namely, (2.1) the input, (2.2) the evaluation of knowledge and experience, and (2.3) the reporting of outcomes which consisted of the outcome reporting work and the application of evaluation results for work improvement; 2) results of quality verification of the developed knowledge and experience evaluation system in transferred education showed that the system users had opinions that the developed system was useful, feasible, appropriate, and accurate at the high level.
