The Effects of Job Demands on Burnout and Affective Commitment of Casual Dining Restaurant Employees, Uttayarn-Auksa Road, Bangkok

Abstract
This research purposes were to 1) study the effects of job demands on burnout of restaurant employees; 2) study the effects of burnout on affective commitment of restaurant employees; and 3) study the effects of job burnout on job demands and affective commitment. The samples of this quantitative study were 100 employees working in famous restaurants on Uttayarn-Auksa road, Bangkok. The statistical methods employed for data analysis were Pearson’s correlation, and multiple regression. The results indicated that job demands had a positive influence on job burnout.Job demands also had a negative influence on affective commitment. In testing the mediating effect, it was found that job burnout had a mediating effect on job demands and affective commitment. The implications of the findings and suggestions for future research are presented.
