Factors Affecting Success of High Rise Building Construction Projects in Administrators and Practitioners’ Opinions

Abstract
The purposes of this research were to 1) study the level and the priority of the factors which affect the success of high rise building construction projects in administrators and practitioners’ opinion, and 2) provide the guidelines to enhance the success of high rise building construction projects. The reaearch sample consisted of 500 staffs in the high rise building construction projects. The questionnaire was aimed at collecting quantitative data. Then, the mean, standard deviation, frequency, correlation coefficient and path analysis were used to analyze the data.
factors, i.e. human factors and management factors, that lead to the success of high rise building construction projects is at a high level, and this success, i.e. time, cost, and quality, was affected at a high level. Secondly, the management factors are more related to the success of high rise building construction projects at the higher level than human factors. Additionally, the staffs put the highest priority towards this success considering time as well as quality and cost respectively. Thirdly, it is recommended that promoting the success of high rise building construction projects by focusing on management factors, i.e. monitoring and feedback, budget management, and human factors, i.e. good coordination, staff commitment, training resource, and staffs’ competency development, respectively, bring about the best consequence in accordance with the administrators and practitioners’ opinions.
