Development of Learning and Teaching by Social Network

Abstract

               The objectives of the research are (1) to examine and to compare the students’ achievement of learning using Social Network and (2) to study the learners’ recommendations towards teaching and learning using Social Network.

               The present research study was experimental research. The sample included 60 students from Research in Communication Course, D6 group, Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University, Semester 1, Academic Year 2012. They were selected using random sampling methods. 30 samples were selected as the experimental group by drawing. The experimental group studied using Social Network and another 30 samples as the control group did not. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, mean, and the statistic deviation. The means of learning achievement of the experimental group and control group were compared using t-dependent test.

               The results found that: 1) comparing the achievement scores between the experimental group and control group revealed that the morality achievement scores and the knowledge achievement scores were not statistically significant, the cognitive achievement scores were statistically significant at the .05 level, the interpersonal relationship and responsibility achievement scores were statistical significant at the .05 level, the numeric analytical skills, communication, and information technology usage achievement scores were statistically significant and 2) according to the learners’ recommendations,  most of the experimental group (17 persons) did not give suggestions, followed by 7 students who would like to have the lessons in a model of video www.youtube.com, and 6 students who suggested that every course should develop the instruction on the Internet.
