THE MODEL OF RETIREMENT PREPARATION FOR TEACHERS OF PRIVATE SCHOOLS IN NONTHABURI PROVINCE

Abstract

              This research aims 1) To study the differentiations of retirement plans of private teachers in Nonthaburi education service area 2) To compare the differentiation between demographic-socio-economic factors and retirement preparation of those 3) To study about psychological, social support, challenges and problems in relationship with retirement preparation and 4) To developing retirement plans which will fit with the different age groups of them.  This research employs both quantitative and qualitative methods.  The quantitative part involves The questionnaires used in this research were distributed among 360 private teachers in Nonthaburi education service who are subsequently divided into two age groups; the lower age group (under 55 years old) and the elderly age group (over 55 years old).  The sample population was asked to self-report via filling out the questionnaire. The answers were then analyzed by using frequencies, percentage, mode, mean, standard deviation, t-test, F-test, and Pearson’s absolute co-efficient. In term of the qualitative study involves group discussions among teachers each age group and their family for 30 people in order to build a retirement preparation plan and present the model sets to 5 specialists to consider the suitable set by group discussion. The research findings are as followed; 1.) In the hold picture, those teachers have a mean of the retirement preparation in the medium value.  The lower age group has a medium retirement preparation value and the elderly age group has high retirement preparation value. 2) The differences in term of age, married status and income have an impact of differentiation for the retirement preparation plan with the significant at 0.05, while the different of gender, health – condition, and the sufficient of income do not have an impact of differentiation for the retirement preparation plan. 3) Factors that have relationships with retirement preparation are media absorption through retirement preparation model, attitude towards retirement preparation, and social support have a positive relationship with retirement preparation, while, the challenges and problems in retirement preparation has a negative relationships with the retirement preparation. 4) Private teachers in all age groups share the same retirement preparation plan i.e. they have to prepare economically, housing, physical and mental health, and time management.  Family must support this retirement preparation in all areas whether emotionally, information, and materials, whereas administration office and the government must support the retirement preparation in disseminating knowledge, giving consulting services, and arranging activities to support and promote retirement preparation.
