“Gui Lui Som” Music in Thai Phuen Life in Hadsiew Sub - District, Si Satchanalai District, Sukhothai Province

Abstract

The topic of this study is “Gui Lui Som” Music in Thai Puen life in Hadsiew Sub – district, Si Satchanalai District, Sukhothai province. The object of this study were to study Gui Lui Som that the kind of music in Thai Phuen life and their conservation approach of Thai Phuen music in Hadsiew sub – district, Si Satchanalai district, Sukhothai province. The informant of this study has 16 persons included five knowledgeable people, five performers and six normal persons all informant selected by specific. The tools of this study were interview form and observation form that collected data by related document and field work. The data was analyze by the objective and present on descriptive analysis. The results founded 1) The element of Gui Lui Som are including one big drum, a pair of big cymbals, two gongs which high – pitched and low pitched. The show occasion are three features including normal play, between Buddhists lent play and special occasion play. The rhythm can play in three styles including Wai Kru style has slow tempo, Kaew Long Kon rhythm has moderate tempo and Kwai Long Tung rhythm has fast tempo. 2) Gui Lui Som conservation approaches of Thai Puen are including Gul Lui Som study in Young Thai Puen club of Muang Chaleang School. This study consist learning to play Gui Lui Som, making Thai Puen dance that used with Gui Lui Som and play the show in community show. Keywords : Gui Lui Som, Thai Puen music, Thai Puen
