Service Strategies that Affect the Decision of Students in the Upper Southern Region in Choosing to Use Low Cost Airlines

This research aims to 1) study the decision to choose the low cost airline service of students 2) compare study of the decision to use low-cost airline services classified by personal factors 3) study the service strategies of low-cost airlines affecting the decision to choose low-cost airline services for students. The populations are 397 students in the university upper southern region. Tools used are questionnaires data analysis, using descriptive statistics, the average (),
standard deviation (S.D.). Using multiple regression analysis and inferential analysis. Processing data from statistical computer programs in order to test the hypotheses. The research found that students have opinions on the decision to use low cost airline services. Vary according to age variables, universities being studied and domiciled with statistical significance at 0.5. From the results of the study of low cost airline service strategies found that post-flight service strategy, have the highest influence and followed by personality, operation, competition, pre-flight and on-flight services. The researcher suggested that airlines should find measures that emphasize the importance of customer service for post- flight, such as the introduction of walking to pick up luggage, etc.
