Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1) to study folk fabric making group’s potential of Bunglert village, Bunglert sub-district, Meyawadee district, Loi-et province, 2) to study problems, needs and suggestions of folk fabric making group’s potential development, 3) to create the models for developing folk fabric making group’s potential in cooperation between school and community in Meyawadee district, Loi-et district, and 4) to measure the use of the models for
developing folk fabric making group’s potential in cooperation between school and community in Meyawadee district, Loi-et district. The subjects comprised 474 people of folk fabric making group members in Bunglert community, Meyawadee district, Loi-et district, which were divided into five groups in which there were 32 people in only one group selected by purposive sampling method. The mixed method used in this research consisted of qualitative research and quantitative research. The analyzed document data were used for creating the research framework. Then there was a fieldwork survey and the data were collected by observation, interview, focus group discussion, and workshop. The results are as follow: Folk fabric making group’s potential: Professional level before potential development was found that the design knowledge and the product preparation were at ‘much’ level, the accounting preparation, the cost calculation and price determination were at ‘moderate’ level, and the marketing knowledge was at ‘moderate’ level. Problems, needs and suggestions of folk fabric making group’s potential development: it was found that marketing was out of reach to consumers; the point of sale was remote, marketing knowledge was insufficient, and guidelines on selling products, and marketing management should be trained. Models of folk fabric making group’s potential development: This process consisted of 1) training that depends on needs, 2) practicing before real use, 3) measuring a tryout with three parts, and 4) concluding the result of a tryout and bringing the result to real use. The result of the use of the models of folk fabric making group’s potential development:
Professional level after the use of the models for developing folk fabric making group’s potential was higher than before the use of the models of folk fabric making group’s potential development, which was found that the design knowledge and the product preparation were at ‘much’ level, the accounting preparation, the cost calculation , and price determination were at ‘moderate’ level, and the marketing knowledge was at ‘much’ level. Keywords : potential development, folk fabric making group, weaving cloth
