นิทานอุทาหรณ์จากวรรณกรรมศาสนาเป็นนิทานที่นำเรื่องเล่ายกมาเป็นตัวอย่างและคติสอนใจ วรรณกรรมพระพุทธศาสนาปรากฏมีการเล่านิทานอุทาหรณ์ประกอบการวินิจฉัยปัญหาหรือการตรวจสอบข้อเท็จจริงในแต่ละครั้งก่อนที่จะทรงบัญญัติสิกขาบท เพื่อให้ข้อมูลเด่นชัดอยู่ในกรอบเกณฑ์สำหรับพระภิกษุ จะถือปฏิบัติได้บทความนี้มีความมุ่งหมายเพื่อวิเคราะห์การเล่านิทานอุทาหรณ์จากวรรณกรรมศาสนาซึ่งพบว่ามูลเหตุและปัจจัยในการเล่านิทานอุทาหรณ์ในพระวินัยปิฎก มีสาเหตุมาจากการประพฤติผิดในหลักปฏิบัติหรือการแสดงความคิดเห็นขัดแย้งหลักธรรมหรือข้อปฏิบัติ จึงมีการเล่านิทานเพื่อประกอบการอธิบายเนื้อความและลักษณะแห่งการทำผิดแต่ละข้อ ส่วนลักษณะการเล่ามีความแตกต่างกันเนื่องจากภิกษุสงฆ์มาจากต่างฐานะ ต่างตระกูลจึงมีพฤติกรรมแตกต่างกัน รวมถึงสถานการณ์และบรรยากาศในการเล่าที่มีความแตกต่างกันซึ่ง ผู้เล่าสามารถอาศัยช่วงเวลาและสถานการณ์อธิบายแบบเดียวกัน เพราะเมื่อมีเหตุการณ์เกิดขึ้นอีกจะได้ตัดสินได้ถูกต้องและมีนิทานอ้างอิงต่อไป.

Abstract

Illustrated tales in religious literature are the Tales quoted asexamples and moral mottos. In Buddhist literature, there are several illustratedtales which were told along with the diagnosis of problems orverification at a time before creating Law (sikkhapada) to provide clearcriteria in the frame which was considered practical for monks to follow.The purpose of this article is to analyze the tellings of the talesappearing in religious literature.It is found that tellings of illustrated tales in the vinaya-pitaka (thebasket of discipline) were conducted whenever there were violationsof Dhamma Principles or when there were conflicts about the PracticalPhamma Principles.Tales were told in order to explain and illustrate features of thebreach of each item. The features and ways of telling varied, dependingon background of the monks who commited different malpractices, anddepending on situations and atmospheres These tales and situations andatmospheres of telling were used as references for the following breaches.
