Factors Affecting Revenue Collection Capability and Public Services Effectiveness of Local Government

Abstract
This article is a part of the research subject, Fiscal disparity and Factors Affecting Effectiveness in Local Government”, which analyzed data from the factors that affecting local government’s revenue and its effectiveness in delivering public services. These include physical variables in size and population and the management effectiveness variables, including the effectiveness of management, the effectiveness of personnel management and council affairs, and the effectiveness of monetary and financial administration which collected from the secondary data from a Local Performance Assessment (LPA) Report assessed by Department of Local Administration for the year 2015. The note forms had been used for data collection. In data analysis, the content analysis as well as the regression analysis has been conducted to examine the relationship between variables. The results showed that the ability of the local government to collect tax revenue depends on the population and the effectiveness of the monetary and financial management. Where as the effectiveness of management and the effectiveness of personnel management and council affairs has effect on the effectiveness of public services of the local government.
